Grand Canyon Stikine and the world that surrounds

We had an amazing trip!!!  There is lots of splashy water and whitewater fun to be had here in BC.
At the put-in of the Stikine we happened upon one of Europe's whitewater legends Felix Laemmler.  This man is next level, he is 49, packs lighter, and runs bigger whitewater than anyone I know.  It was amazing to see this man run the whole river and not think twice about it.  The legends our true it tell you, true. So, true that we just got a message that he just finished his one day solo of the Stikine, legend.

We have been hanging around Telegraph Creek with a wonderful couple John and Jenny.  They opened up their home to us, fed us, and gave us an amazing place to rest our heads.  We can't thank them enough for their hospitality.  What a wonderful home and life they have here in the depths of BC.

Spot Device: Follow our river travels

Base Camp for Grand Canyon Stikine: Tatogga,BC

The surprise guest is none other than the Magical Dirty Kitty himself, Tyler Allen.  I couldn't think of a better charger, partner, and all around entertainer to pick up at the last second, proud to have him along.

(Iskut throw-up off the Highway)

We are chilling in Tatogga,BC getting ready to kayak the Grand Canyon Stikine.  Should be putting on tomorrow and we plan on a 3-4 day stay in the BC wilderness.

Final meeting with Lesser

Before leaving Boise we stopped by legendary kayaker Rob Lesser's house for one last bit of information.  If there is anyone you should talk to before attempting this journey, it would be Rob.

Rob was the first to kayak the Grand Canyon Stikine in 81' and in the late 70's and early 80's kayaked both Devils Canyon (Susitna) and Turn Back Canyon (Alsek).

With eyes and ears open we listened to stories of success and failures, each ending with Rob shrugging  his shoulders and a "Well...you know how it goes."  This is how all great expeditions should start, with the stories of legends from the legends themselves.

Start of the journey

Over the past 15 years I have dedicated my life to kayaking and the community it surrounds. It has come with a life time of happieness and rewards. I'm looking to fulfill one of kayakings dream trips, the Triple Crown.
The triple crown involves three of Northern Americas largest rivers, the Alsek, Susitna, and Grand Canyon Stikine.  Due to the cost, time, and level of kayaking it involves only a handfull of teams have had the chance to attempt this trip.
It will include driving 4,000+ miles, plane flights, jet boat rides, and a total of 21 days combined on the river.
I dont get paid to kayak, so I am looking for support from friends, family, or any other willing individuals that would like to help support this dream.
I will be documenting this trip through film, video, and an online blog. With your support this dream can become a reality
Thank you for your suport,
Brian "BReal" Ward
